Vehicle purchasing

We have access to dozens of the major Japanese auctions through which in excess of 120,000 vehicles pass every week. We always have auction reports translated by the 24 hour Customer Service Centre, and ensure that vehicles are checked prior to placing bids on them. This is in contrast to many importers who will buy “blind”, either in the hope they have made a wise purchase, or not particularly being bothered by the condition of the vehicle.

After a vehicle has been purchased on your behalf, it is transported to the inspection facility where it is then thoroughly inspected with respect to bodywork, engine and drive-train. If the vehicle has accident damage or an obvious faulty mechanical condition, it will be returned to the auction with no risk to us. A surveyor’s report is then made available to us. This confirms that the description given in the auction report is correct and that there are no “nasty surprises” awaiting us. Therefore, we can be confident that we have purchased you a high quality vehicle

Additionally, we have built up a trusting and strong relationship with a major purchaser of used vehicles in Japan who supplies all of the world export markets. This relationship gives us 100% confidence in the vehicles that we are able to purchase, and further ensures that these can be obtained at highly competitive prices. An advantage of this relationship is that high quality vehicles can often be sourced for you in the shortest possible time.

Vehicle preparation

Before delivery to you, all vehicles are fully prepared, tested and registered to ensure that you have no additional expenses to meet. It is all to easy to come across what you may perceive as a bargain, only to find that you need to spend hundreds, often thousands, of pounds on “extras” such as:

• import taxes
• new tyres
• oil and filter changing
• coolant changing
• Single Vehicle Approval (SVA) preparation and testing
• MOT
• Valet and dealing with minor bodywork dings and scrapes
• registration and so on.

We believe that these items should not be extras, and that all of this should be taken care of for you. Thus ensuring that your purchase of an imported vehicle should be no different to purchasing a UK domestic market vehicle. Of course, there is one important difference. By opting to purchase a vehicle from Japan, you have the pick of the best and most unique performance cars, MPVs and 4x4s.

To benefit you we always:

• sort out everything required to clear customs
• supply and fit brand new tyres to suit UK road conditions, and allow you to specify your choice of tyres
• supply and fit UK specification CD/tuners and uprated speakers from Kenwood or Alpine (unless you request otherwise)
• change oil, filters and coolant
• have all SVA and MOT work carried
• fully prepare your vehicle to the highest standards
• register and tax your vehicle so it is ready to drive straight away
• provide a 6 month warranty

It is important to us that we look after you after completion of your purchase. Therefore, if you have any questions we want you to feel free to contact us. Even if it’s something that may seem trivial to many (like “where do I find the paint code?” or “what should my tyre pressures be?”), we are happy to help.

None of us likes to experience a problem with a new purchase, but very occasionally things can go wrong. We fully abide by the trading standards as set down by the Government to protect consumers. We will not, therefore, try to fob you off if you approach us with problems that should have been made evident at time of purchase, or that develop within the first 6 months of purchase. Instead, we will do all we can to resolve such issues to our mutual satisfaction.
